Foxmarks
On a Windows Vista SP1 machine, Foxmarks 2.0.47.4 will not install in FF3. That's the whole story. Doesn't refuse to install, doesn't gen any error messages, installation appears to go fine, but when FF3 re-starts -- no trace of Foxmarks, just as if I hadn't installed it at all. Same results with 6 installation attempts.

Blank Index Page
Hi
Just wanted to let you know that if you go to foxmarks.com it opens to a blank index page. However, www.foxmarks.com forwards to the right page. Hope this service works out. Seems much more powerful than any other firefox bookmark syncroniver I've used. Thanks!
- Thanks for letting us know about the problem with foxmarks.com -- it's fixed now. And thanks for your support, too. --Todd 13:48, 11 April 2006 (EDT)
Feature request....
How about supporting a situation where I have a laptop and home computer, plus I occasionally use a computer at a friends house. I'd like to keep my bookmarks in a file (one that can be edited by notepad) on my thumb drive. i.e. no server involved. When I bring up firefox an icon in the bookmarks toolbar would let me "link" the file on the thumbdrive as a folder on the bookmarks toolbar. And having the file appear as a folder on the bookmark toolbar would allow me to have multiple bookmark files on my thumbdrive... (i.e. work, travel, personal, hobbies, p0rn, etc.)
Thanks for listening...
Mikey
Bug Pages
It seems that 'Known Bugs' and 'Bugs' are the same page... perhaps 'Known Bugs' should be restricted to be editable only by you developers, and '(Suspected?) Bugs' or something could be the page where us users report them. Thanks for your work!
Empty Folders created in my.foxmarks that remain empty don't show as folders in Firefox
I was doing some editing earlier today and set up some folders and did not have time to move actual webpages into them just yet cause there are many and got tired of doing it. When the sync occurred I noticed they were not folders rather showed up with the default favicon used for a web site. If a empty folder is created in firefox bookmarks application and then synced, it shows as an empty folder in my.foxmarks. Once you move something into it then it changes to a folder. Is it a big deal, no, but I thought you might want to know since this could be the root of bookmarks disappearing or a contributor to another problem. MarkG 00:55, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
FOXMARKS 2.0 trouble
Okey dokey!!! As mentioned above and in the FM FAQ’s, this works with a slight alteration step not mentioned. I initially got Foxmarks: Error: Unknown error 400 for about 10 days. and so today I tried this: http://wiki.foxmarks.com/wiki/Foxmarks:_Error:_Found_Corrupt_Bookmark_Data
similar to tom’s post above. with the *key step* being export *ALL* your bookmarks, including your toolbar folder first. then delete all bookmarks execpt the toolbar folder. then delete the bookmarks *in* the toolbar folder. then import and set the newly imported toolbar folder as the correct one by right click then delete old toolbar folder. voila………except now….
sync gives the good ole internal server error.
I went to MYFOXMARKS and looked at what was there. any of my old bookmarks? nada! but there were two from about 5 days ago?!! any way, I deleted them and tried to sync again. DENIED!!! internal server error…. so i poked around foxmarks’ control panel and guess what??????! you can force overwrite to server or local, so that’s what I did. Presto Chango I am a software expert now! Sure hope someone reads this that can actually post the correct methods to help without spending two hours searching for answers. I love Foxmarks, but this was ridiculously complicated.
- Odd...was this before Foxmarks: Error: Unknown error 400 had a link to the instructions for fixing the problem, or did those instructions not work for you? --Foxworth 19:40, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
Disabled features on second PC
I installed Foxmarks on my laptop and on my PC. In the laptop I can edit the bookmarks using the "Organize Bookmarks" option in FF3. In my PC, I see them in the menu Bookmarks, but in the Organize Bookmarks window, they don't appear! I have already tried to import, synchronize, restore and more but with no success.
Another problem that I have in my PC is setting the profile. In the Foxmarks settings, there is the option of changing the profile that should be used in synchronization in this PC. However, it requires the introduction of my Foxmarks password, witch I do, but the drop down to choose the profile remains disable, so I'm unable to choose the profile.
How can this be fixed?
