If you decide to download an extension from this page, please know that you are downloading BETA software which has not been thoroughly tested. Back up your bookmarks first, as untested software can cause your bookmarks to become corrupted or lost.
If, despite these warnings, you decide to proceed, please let us know if you encounter problems.

If you're having trouble installing from this page, try right-clicking the link to "Save the link as..." (ctrl-click under Mac OS X), then install from your desktop by dragging the file and dropping it on a Firefox window. Foxmarks 2.0.45
Released 3/6/2008 - Download
- Implements disableDirtyOnBatch fix to reduce spurious synchronization requests.
- Implements 2nd half of PostData fix for smart keywords that require PostData.
- Gracefully handle unknown attributes and types (setting the stage for compatibility with Firefox 3).
- Detect error on write to local datastore, which might be responsible for some instances of unintended sync reversion.
- Open success page after successful completion of Setup Wizard.

- Fixes auto sync for people using their own server.
- Allows users to exclude favicons from sync, making their sync files substantially smaller. This was provided to users syncing with their own server who found that round-tripping favicon data was making sync extremely slow. To activate this feature, see this page.
Foxmarks 2.0.33

- Adds fi-FI locale.
- Corrects a bug in "sync on shutdown" dialog: persist user's immediate choice of whether to sync on shutdown only if user also checks the "don't ask me again" box.
- Catch "bulk" updates by the Bookmark Manager (5 or more items moved, deleted, etc.) to enter the "Foxmarks has changes to sync" state.
- Some minor code cleanup.

- First implementation of "Own server" support. This has been tested against HTTP/WebDAV, but not yet against FTP servers.

- Fixes a handful of (increasingly rare) sync errors.

Changes in this version:
- Substantially revised auto sync detection and timing. To detect the need for auto sync, Foxmarks now watches the datastore for notifications of changes, rather than traversing it looking for changes every minute. This should improve performance for people with large bookmark sets on slower machines.
- Auto sync now waits for 5 minutes since the last change to the bookmark set before initiating auto sync. This should make auto sync less intrusive for users who are making a collection of changes to their bookmarks.
- If there are unsynchronized changes detected during shutdown, Foxmarks prompts the user to synchronize prior to shutdown. This "sync on shutdown" behavior can be controlled via new settings on the Foxmarks control panel.
- Note that this version does not yet have translations other than English, so it will likely not be usable in non-English environments. We'll post a new build with complete localizations as soon as we receive them.
- Completely rewrote the serializer to make it observe polite time. This should make synchronization less obtrusive for users with large bookmark sets.
- This is most definitely a beta release. Please let us know if you see any strange behavior.
