Foxmarks: Error: Missing Bookmarks After v2 Install
From Foxmarks Wiki
If you were running Foxmarks v1 on your computer, and then did a new clean install of Firefox with Foxmarks v2, your bookmarks may seem to have vanished. This is because v1 and v2 data are stored in different places, and the Foxmarks servers didn't get the message to upgrade your data from v1 to v2. We apologize if this happened, but by doing some gymnastics this can be fixed.
First, check to make sure that you are able to see your bookmarks on our server by logging in at http://my.foxmarks.com/v1. If you are able to see your bookmarks there, you're in luck. Here's what you do:
- Downgrade your new computer to v1. Download and install Foxmarks Version 1.0.1 from here.
- Immediately go to the Foxmarks Settings Dialog (from the Bookmark menu in Firefox, click Foxmarks...) and then click on the "Other" tab.
- Click "Download Now" to load the bookmarks from the v1 server to your computer. Confirm that your bookmarks look correct.
- Upgrade to Foxmarks 2 by downloading and installing from here.
- Immediately go to the Foxmarks Settings Dialog (from the Tools menu, click Foxmarks -> Settings...) then click on "Advanced."
- Click on "Upload Now" to load your bookmark onto the v2 server.
