Unknown Error Code 400: viewmask

Firefox 2.0.0.13 Foxmarks 2.0.45 Java Version 6 update 5 Installed Foxmarks on my desktop, created account, uploaded desktop bookmarks. Installed on my laptop, logged into account and requested sync. Returns "Unknown Error 400" Error console has perhaps 100 or more errors of various weird parsing problems (the URLs look pretty unremarkable to me)

Here is the Firefox log of the last few messages before it gives up.

TypeError on synchronization

Bug In FireFox 2.0.0.3, I keep getting an annoying window whenever Foxmarks wants to synchronize with the following message: TypeError: Components.classes['@mozilla.org/security/hash;1'] has no properties

I am running a 64 AMD with Kubuntu.

Locking Browser and restrict to 1 sync per session

1 bug and 1 feature request:

Bug: When downloading the bookmark sync file, foxmarks locks up Firefox as I am sure you are aware, is it possible to find a way to run foxmarks in a separate thread or another way to stop the locking up of the browser? Sometimes the download takes a more than a couple of seconds (I have a large bookmark file) and the locking of my browser is a pain.

Feature request: Is it possible to restrict foxmarks autosync to 1 time per session? With the locking up of the browser during download, having it keep synchronizing at regular intervals is a PIA and requires my to disable autosync.

Silkshadow 04:00, 4 August 2007 (EDT)

Edit: Does anyone at Foxmarks read this? Or is this a user wiki? I was under the impression that this was an official channel to communicate with the Foxmarks developers? I guess I am wondering if posting things here is a waste of time or not. Silkshadow 12:35, 12 August 2007 (EDT)

Comment: I haven't found evidence that Foxmarks developers read this, or are doing anything in response (am I wrong?). For instance, this situation has been discussed for many, many months in several sections of this wiki, yet not addressed that I can find. Yet they seem to be using Foxmarks as an introduction to their professional services. Oops. Pretty-good software poorly-supported is not how to make a good impression on potential customers.

Eek, sorry for the lack of response on this issue! We recently migrated our wiki to a new server and are still ironing out the bugs. The issue of Foxmarks locking up the browser is definitely something we expect to address in upcoming releases of the extension. As for restricting to one sync per session, your best bet is to disable automatic synchronization and then simply use manual sync (Ctrl-Shift-S under Windows) as appropriate. Problems when synchronizing Bookmarks Toolbar Folder

1. This is not a bug... rather an improvement suggestion ;) Toolbar Folder seems to be locked and I'd prefer having two (or more) different folders, where I can choose which should be shown. Havnig my bussines links at hand at work and a different set at home and on my notebook would be just fine. --Guest 09:00, 2 August 2007 (CET)

2. This bug has already been reported by another user; I'll copy his description, which fits perfectly my own observations, and add a sentence or two:

I notice Foxmarks continues to delete and lose my bookmarks that I place in the "Bookmarks Toolbar Folder." For example, I like to put sites I routinely check directly on my browser so that I can click on them directly. Foxmarks seems to disregard these set of links entirely. Furthermore, it proceeds to delete the ones that already exist on the local machine!

Added note: I have tried by now on each of my 3 computers (all of them running Foxmarks 1.0.1) to place or re-place my list of most useful bookmarks into the Bookmarks Toolbar Folder (BTF), but when I synchronize then from another computer the result is that these bookmarks are disregarded... and disappear from the computer where I had just placed them into the BTF myself. [Just in case this could have something to do with the problem: before I found out about Foxmarks, when I imported or synchronized my bookmarks myself, such as by transferring the file by email or a flash drive, I may have replaced the BTF of computer 2 by the BTF on the file I just transferred from computer 1. However, it seems to me that the system recognized and used well the imported BTF, so I doubt whether this really could be the cause of the problem...?] --128.143.230.12 14:53, 10 August 2007 (EDT)

3. I have encountered the vaporizing Bookmarks Toolbar issue as well, using Foxmarks 1.0.1 and Firefox 2.0.0.6. When I sync, the Bookmarks Toolbar folder is not synced, and the host PC lost all of the links in this folder. Please fix this!--12.155.165.2 17:24, 15 August 2007 (EDT)

Firefox 2.0.0.5 seems to break auto syncronization

The instructions were to edit this page to add found bugs, so I am doing so. Foxmarks was working great for me with 2.0.0.4 on 4 different machines (I would say the post below should be removed). Upgraded all of them to 2.0.0.5 and auto syncronization doesn't seem to work anymore. I have to manually sync. Foxmarks 1.0.1 --Silkshadow 03:53, 18 July 2007 (EDT)

Crud, dumb spam filter won't let me save this page so I had to change add '-' to 'ns[-]E[-]xtensionManager' below :( --Silkshadow 03:58, 18 July 2007 (EDT)

It is not broken, it is just really slow to start the sync on 2.0.0.5. If I leave a browser up for 5-10 minutes it will eventually do the sync automatically. On 2.0.0.4, it used to start the sync less than a minute after I opened the browser. --Silkshadow 05:17, 18 July 2007 (EDT)

Firefox 2.0.0.4 Compatibility

Foxmarks Bookmark Synchronizer 1.0.1 not compatible Firefox 2.0.0.4!!!

Works for me. Why do you think there's a problem? --Todd 18:31, 5 June 2007 (EDT)

Firefox 3 Compatibility

Firemarks is not compatible with Minefield (Firefox 3). This is not a bug, just a issue.

FTP (only testet) + Password including a "/" doesn't work

I tried Foxmarks 1.0.1 today and when I use a Password including a "/" I got this error:

[2007-05-17 09:59:15] ------ Foxmarks/1.0.1 starting sync with ftp://extftpuser@niles.xxxx.yyy 7777/foxmarks.xml ------
[2007-05-17 09:59:16] Progress: status is 0, msg is Searching for sync file...

[2007-05-17 09:59:16] Returned error: DNS Unknown host(2152398878)

I changed my password and the error disappeared.

Simon 10:15, 17 May 2007 (EDT)

Additionally I had the same problem with a password that included a ":" and ";", don't know which of the two characters caused problems but when I changed my password it worked for me too.

Guest 21:03, 21 May 2007 (BST)

I have the same problem since I change my password. Now it includes a ".". --Guest 06:50, 8 July 2007 (EDT)

Same problem with a '#'. Results in error: "DNS unknown host" <- That error description does not help!

SSL Certficate Causes Warning

I use https to syncronise but I get a waning message each time because the certificate does not tie up with the site it accesses (the site is foxmarks and the certificate is for foxclouds). This means I cant have a silent synchronisation. I am using 1.0.1.

I can confirm the SSL Warning Message with FF 2.0.0.5 The problem is that the SSL-certificate is registered to "sync.foxcloud.com" while the connection is with "sync.foxmarks.com"

I changed sync.foxmarks.com to sync.foxcloud.com and it seems to work. I think I had to upload my bookmarks the first time, but it's ok now.

[Update: It looks like the security certificate has been updated to the foxmarks.com domain so the instructions above are now obsolete.]

Microsummaries cause synch problems

Not a bug with foxmarks per se, more a feature of microsummaries:

Foxmarks prompts the user to verify which version (remote/local) of a microsummary bookmark they want to keep if the microsummary title has changed - which, by the nature of microsummaries, is generally very often and hence very annoying!

To test/reproduce (best to use a busy site with microsummaries for this):

  1. Bookmark a page with a microsummary - there's a lot of them listed here on the sites using microsummaries page.
  2. Change the bookmark title to one of the microsummaries.
  3. Synchronize foxmarks.
  4. Wait for the microsummary live title to change and update it in firefox (right click bookmark, select 'Reload Live Title'. Verify the live title is different.
  5. Synchronize foxmarks again.

Foxmarks should prompt which version of the microsummaried bookmark to keep.

I’m not sure 0.90 has fully sorted the/my favicons problems. Here’s how it is for me:

Firefox 2.0.0.3 and Foxmarks 0.90

I don’t like favicons, so I have set browser.chrome.favicons and browser.chrome.site_icons both to false

Several of my bookmarks have favicons showing (some of which are incorrect)

If I disable Foxmarks and restart Firefox, I get no favicons (which is what I want)

When I re-enable Foxmarks and restart Firefox, the same favicons return

Hope this is clear!

Thanks for a great addon, it’s invaluable!

  • I am running Firefox 2.0.0.3. I need to use HTTPS instead of HTTP or FTP to connect to the Foxmark server. However, Firefox is flagging the security certificate you present as a possible forgery, since it's coming from Foxmark.com, but it says the security certificate says FoxCLOUD.com. Please match your security certificate with your domain name. Tomcarlson 16:29, 29 March 2007 (EDT)

  • I have two machines running Firefox 2.0.0.2, one with XP and the other with Ubuntu 6.10. When I make a change to my bookmarks on the XP machine I can see it on the Ubuntu machine. But when I make a change on the Ubuntu machine, I don't see it on the XP machine unless I use the maintenance "download now". The auto update and manual sync options just say no changes found. When I login to foxmarks.com I see the change. I have deleted and remade my account, reinstall foxmark on both machines and still the same problem. Matt, diyaudio@mchsi.com

  • I notice that recently after I upgraded to 0.89, the synchronized date is always 2/15/2007 after I restart my computer or close all the browsers and restart again (not sure which one). I try again and it appears correct the first time, but next time when I open foxmarks menu it shows 2/15/2007 AGAIN, and it is the old one so that it is not up-to-date. In addition, even after I synchronize it the bookmark still does not update. I am not sure if I am the only one encounter with this problem. Please help solve this issue.

  • I have noticed that the password strength rules are not the same between foxmarks 0.84 download and foxmarks.com. In particular, the online version allows special characters such as the # sign, while the foxmarks extension does not.
  • Several of Bookmarks Toolbars Folder's subfolders' bookmarks turned into separators in Foxmarks 0.84 on Firefox 2.0 on Windows XP SP2. Uploading correct bookmarks displayed them correctly in my.foxmarks.com. After redownload bookmarks were fixed except livemarks, that remained still as separators.

  • Unable to create an account on foxcloud.com using wizard in Foxmarks 0.84 on Firefox 1.5.0.9 on Ubuntu Dapper (6.06). After entering new account details and hitting the next button I get an empty dialog box saying Status: with a help and cancel button (yes, I've seen this entry, but I'm not running Mac OSX and reinstalling didn't help). The following events happen with the dialog:
    • if I close the dialog I get an alert saying "Your account could not be created. Please check your settings and sty again. Error is (null)."
    • if I select Help the dialog disappears and I'm back in the wizard.
    • if I select Cancel nothing happens.

Despite the platform differences, this likely is the same problem that you reference -- Foxmarks is not fully installed. If you deinstall, restart, and reinstall (3rd time's the charm?) it'll probably fix it. --Todd 19:04, 16 January 2007 (EST)
Thanks Todd. OK, I tried to uninstall, restart, and reinstall several times to no avail. I noticed that Firefox was segfaulting when restarting after both an install and an uninstall (but not otherwise), so I uninstalled another extension (ColorZilla) to see if the same behavior presented. When I restarted (sans segfault) I was presented with a preferences dialog for Adblock Plus (which I've had installed for a while) and then when I tried Foxmarks it all worked, both the setup wizard and the sync. So, there seems to be some interplay between the extensions that is interfering with the configuration stage. ColorZilla doesn't work completely on Linux at the moment, so perhaps that's the root cause. When I reinstalled ColorZilla I was able to sync without hassle and use the setup wizard. Anyway, I hope that gives you some leads. Thanks, by the way, for a great extension. 203.214.88.197 06:44, 17 January 2007 (EST)
Precondition Failed: I sync to my own Apache2.2 WebDav server (Debian Etch). I have the precondition failed problem each time and have to modify the Foxmarks source code for each release to hide the issue. See Foxmarks: Error: Precondition Failed for more info. Running 1.0.1 on Firefox 2.
72.242.95.202 17:45, 9 May 2007 (EDT)
You don't have to modify the source code -- there's a work-around available for the Apache bug. Please see disableIfMatchOnPut as described on the page you reference above. --Todd 18:31, 9 May 2007 (EDT)

Deleted live bookmarks return and multiply.

I synchronize bookmarks between my home and work computers. I have a number of live feeds/bookmarks about XML topics. For some reason, these start multiplying, for example, from having just one dita-users feed from the [1] page, I now have about twenty. When I delete the superfluous feeds at work, synchronizing does not delete on the home computer. Deleting on both work and home computers lasts until the next synchronization. Then they start multiplying again. Any ideas? It would be good if you could delete them on the Foxmarks site.

  • Using Foxmarks 0.84 on Windows with Firefox 2.0.0.1, I can't sync any more - get "Foxmarks is busy". Last successful sync was at 9.20 am GMT so perhaps this is a server issue. No JavaScript errors from Foxmarks visible in Firefox Error Console. I also tried upgrading to 0.88 and downgrading to 0.80 without effect. On 0.80, what happens is that Foxmarks says "downloading sync file" for a few seconds, then "Copying local file to remote" for a very long time (tens of minutes) and then eventually "Connection reset". Very frustrating as Foxmarks has been working fine for ages on both Ubuntu Linux and Windows. --Richard
  • Trying to create an account using an Email address containing a plus symbol (+) fails with the error "Please enter a valid Email address". This is a valid, and very common character used in the local portion of email addresses as well as several other characters, thus it should be allowed. See the "Limitations" section of this article, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Email_address , for all the valid characters. --Jon Firefox 1.5.0.4 On Ubuntu Dapper w/ Foxmarks v.0.72
  • Line breaks in bookmark comments become underscores when I synchronize my bookmarks across the latest version of Firefox on Windows XP and Ubuntu Dapper.
  • I loose my bookmark icons after syncing

  • I am using Wizz RSS News Reader [2] and every time when I read a news Foxmarks starts a synchronization, so browser became locked for 10 seconds (I changed a dom timeout) and eventually message box that script is running to long appears (btw, in most cases message box appear under FF window, so it is easy to miss it). So it is hard to use RSS reader when Foxmarks is on. Is there any way to workaround that?

Andrey

Foxmarks 0.67/Wizz 2.1.2.0/Firefox 1.5.0.3/Windows XP Pro SP2

Andrey, unfortunately the only work-around I can recommend right now is to disable automatic synchronization. But a 10 second lock-up sounds really bad. Can you please provide some additional specs for your machine, e.g., how much RAM, processor speed, etc. Also, if you could provide your username (via email if you prefer) that would be helpful, too. --Todd 21:06, 14 May 2006 (EDT)
  • I also see the lock ups (5sec), too. (AMD 4200 X2 machine, WinXP home SP2) so maybe there
should be an option to say autosync on startup/on close or an option to sync every x
 minutes.. (Foxmark 0.72)

Ralf

I get parked occasionally on two computers using v0.80 on v1.5.0.7. One's an AMD Sempron 3000 and the other's an Intel P4 2.4GHz, both running WinXP Pro SP2 with at least 1 GB RAM. Both also have Norton AntiVirus, FreeRAM XP Pro, and Google Desktop.—Nayhem 21:38, 27 September 2006 (EDT)

JohnD - I am experiencing a similar problem when trying to 'view items / feeds' in wizz despite updates to v.72 and 2.1.3 - namely foxmarks sync runs. Not a major problem but annoying. thanks John -- 05:06, 26 May 2006 (EDT) Foxmarks 0.72/Wizz 2.1.3.0/Firefox 1.5.0.3/Windows XP Pro SP2

  • If I restore bookmarks by copying bookmarks.html, subsequent synchronizations go badly.
If you need to restore your bookmarks for some reason, it's important that you do an upload (from the "Other" tab in the Foxmarks dialog) immediately afterwards. Otherwise, the results will be unpredictable. But probably not what you wanted. --Todd 17:20, 4 April 2006 (EDT)
  • Changes to Live Bookmarks URLs not propagated (?)

Using Foxmarks 0.56, I had to change URLs for two feeds recently, e.g. from "http ://my.opera.com/desktopteam/xml/atom/blog/" to "http ://my.opera.com/desktopteam/xml/rss/blog/". This change was not reflected on my other computers (as far as I can see). As I can't check Live Bookmarks URLs on My Foxmarks to see if they were uploaded, you'd have to have a look. --Thomas 04:37, 13 March 2006 (EST)

This is a known limitation of the sync algorithm. Your best bet is to create a new Livemark with the correct url and delete the old one. --Todd 03:04, 14 March 2006 (EST)
  • If the clocks on your PC's are not relatively closely in sync, it's possible to lose data. This isn't a problem for most Windows users, as Windows has a built-in NTP client that automatically keeps your clocks in sync. If you're on Mac OSX, follow instructions such as these to ensure that your clock is kept in sync. For Linux users: save yourself some heartache and install an NTP client. --Todd 17:22, 11 January 2006 (EST)
  • If you change server settings in the Foxmarks Dialog, the "Last Sync:" date doesn't update until you sync, or save settings and re-open the dialog box.
  • Mac only: when the Foxmarks dialog is open, it's not possible to open other windows (e.g., the Bookmark Manager, Extension Manager, etc.)
Actually, on closer examination, it appears that the Bookmark Manager opens, but opens behind all other windows. I've filed a bug (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=315143) on this.
  • Mac only: when you open the Extensions Manager, the "Foxmarks..." menu item disappears from the Bookmarks menu.
  • Separators don't paint properly in the folder sequence conflict window.
Temporarily, these are being displayed as a sequences of dashes ("------") until we can figure out how Mozilla paints these. It's an ongoing mystery.
  • Foxmarks doesn't merge items in the Bookmarks Toolbar folder if the Bookmarks Toolbar is named differently on my computers.
This can be a problem for users who are merging across platforms and also for users who are merging across different locales.
Same problem for me syncing between several Windows and Linux computers. --bse99 84.59.41.212 13:53, 10 January 2007 (EST)
To be more precise: Beside the "standard" Bookmarks Toolbar folder, naming varies from system to system, Foxmarks additionally creates these folders as undeletable folders named: "Bookmarks Toolbar Folder" and "Lesezeichen-Symbolleisten-Ordner" (german). Screenshot / logfile / additional info can be provided on request. --bse99 85.10.195.133 02:25, 11 January 2007 (EST)
  • Foxmarks keyboard shortcut for synchronizing can conflict with other extension shortcuts (most notably: disable CSS on the web developer toolbar.) What's more, the shortcut can't be changed anywhere (that I can find.) This is liable to make me stop using the service until I can change that...
Check out this page for some suggested work-arounds. --Todd 17:06, 20 September 2006 (EDT)
  • Foxmarks uses 100% of the cpu on linux 0.84 when synchronizing. I have a P4 3.0 GHz Hyperthreaded Processor with 1GB Ram Fedora Core 2.6.18-1.2868.fc6 Kernel . Startup is painful while it takes my bookmarks to synchronize and those moments wwhen I'm using something cpu intensive pretty much stops. I did notice that I had some dirty bookmarks. I submitted my logs. Noah Swint nswint@hotmail.71.56.0.225 19:32, 4 January 2007 (EST)
  • Not entirely sure if this is a bug or not, but the shortcut for pressing the "F" keyboard button while in the Bookmarks menu interferes with browsing bookmarks with the keyboard, namely pressing "F" to go to a bookmark starting with F, like Facebook or Fark. This occurs in version 1.0.1.
  • I also have Richard's problem. I am running XP Pro on two machines. My laptop was having this problem where the bookmarks do not sync and it hangs up with a "connection reset" message.

It seems like the computer that has Foxmarks installed first has to be running and keeps the "Master" list instead of Foxmarks having the "Master". I can't test this until I get the laptop back from the repair shop, though. I also do have the latest Foxmarks and Firefox on the laptop as I thought that an update would fix the problem. It didn't and I figured that I'd either update the bookmarks when I had my desktop computer (first machine with Foxmarks) again in a couple months. I didn't count on a motherboard failure in the laptop and now have the desktop, without some of my bookmarks. Is there a "master" computer with multiple computers being used? Is there a way to change the "master"? How do you disable the automatic sync? Thanks. --Marissa

  • Note on this: I'm running through a proxy and did just try to add in the "no proxy for" stuff...it didn't work. I'm on my "Master" computer and can't sync so I think that idea is out. Why can't I sync??? --Marissa

Other Suspects

These are odd or unexpected behaviors that have been seen but not clearly identified. If you see one of these, please make sure to let us know.

  • I get an "unknown error 413" when trying to sync bookmarks. This happens after step "copying local file to remote". Log says:

[2007-05-16 12:39:18] Returned error: Error desconocido 413(413)

the problem seems to be request is too long because log also has an html page saying that but cannot understand why because I can access the url http://sync.foxmarks.com/home/MyUserID/foxmarks.xml directly with my browser.

  • I'm currently running WinXP and Firefox 3.0a3pre (I know, that may be the problem there, but I don't have access to my computer with Fx2.0 at the moment, and don't feel like installing it here right now). In the Setup Wizard, I create my account, and click next, a window pops up that says
[Exception... "Could not convert JavaScript argument" nsresult: "0x90570009 (NS_ERROR_XPC_BAD_CONVERT_JS)"

    • This happened with both version .89 and .90. I'm guessing its because I'm on Firefox 3, but I hope support will be added for it as it gets closer to the Fx3 release date. KWierso 03:01, 22 April 2007 (EDT)
Yes, indeed: Foxmarks is not compatible with Firefox 3. The bookmarks system for Firefox is being revamped and is currently in flux; we'll port Foxmarks to Fx3 once those changes are complete. --Todd 16:40, 27 April 2007 (EDT)

This is unlikely to be a Foxmarks bug per se -- lots of people are running Foxmarks on Linux installations. Have you tried downloading the extension again? Have you been able to install other extensions? What exactly is the error that's presented? --Todd 12:31, 22 December 2006 (EST)
You were right - I could not install other extensions either, with the same error, unless Firefox was running as Root, a very dangerous work-around on a Linux system. I was able to install Foxmarks as root, but when I run Firefox under my normal (reasonably safe) ordinary user login the Foxmarks Wizard does not appear, and there is no entry for Foxmarks in the Firefox menu, so I have no way of bringing up the Foxmarks Wizard manually. So, what can I do to be able to actually use Foxmarks? - AdamReed 15:41, 23 December 2006 (EST)
You shouldn't have to run as root to install extensions. I think you should take up this general problem with the good folks at Mozilla -- they're in a better position to advise you. If you learn something that might be useful for other users, please let us know. --Todd 16:54, 24 December 2006 (EST)
This is apparently a known issue with Linux; see https://bugs.launchpad.net/firefox/+bug/65609 --Foxworth 22:07, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
  • synchronizing bookmarks gives an error message:
 Error: Conflicting types of rdf:#$HvPhC3
 Local: http://home.netscape.com/NC-rdf#Folder
 Remote: http://home.netscape.com/NC-rdf#Bookmark

When I click OK, I'm asked which bookmark to keep (local or remote), but after "solving" appr 20 "conflicting" bookmarks that way, a new popup is displayed:

 Status: Canceled by user

(While I didn't cancel anything)

A similar bug was already reported earlier and marked as solved as of v0.56 (http://www.foxcloud.com/wiki/Foxmarks:_Fixed_Bugs), but apparently I'm (still) having similar issues. I'm using Firefox v2.0 with v0.84 of foxmarks. Initially I was using firefox v1.5.0.8 with formarks v0.84, but thought it might have something to do with the version of firefox, because I already synced my bookmarks with foxmarks v0.84 and firefox 2.0 on another system before, but apparently the firefox version isn't the culprit

What you point out is a real problem, and not necessarily one that Foxmarks can very easily handle. The ID referenced above is one associated with one of the default Firefox bookmarks (i.e., one that shows up in a brand-new Firefox profile). On one machine, it's associated with a folder, on the other with a bookmark -- we've never seen this before. Foxmarks internally cancels the sync because there's no way for it to resolve this problem itself. Contact us via email and we'll help you sort it out manually. --Todd 00:27, 20 December 2006 (EST)

  • Favicons disappear after (first) sync - reported by cheski (jbfrank-at-yahoo.com)
Yes, I had the same, though this may not be a bug. Firefox sometimes does not show the Favicon after you add a link to bookmarks but it will show it after a click on that bookmark. Yet, I feel like something could be done about this. --some_anon-- 08:17, 10 February 2006 (EST)

Foxmarks 0.67: After synchronization favicons disappear. Some return when you click on the link but others e.g. Amazon & eBay don't. No idea why this should be.

Using 0.71 right now but I'm still losing favicons after sync. I would be very cool to sync these as well so when another computer gets new bookmarks it goes ahead and gets the favicons as well.

Using 0.72 on two XP machines right now, I'm losing favicons too. Up to now, not one returned after going to the appropriate homepage... Sad, it helped orienting much faster...

0.80 I've lost favicons too on all my sync'd computers. Shame, it's the only negative against this great piece of work. It would be great if there was a 'refresh favicons' option.

.084 2 XP machines, lost some favicons, but not others (kept Blogger & Google only) 10/26/2006

appears that favicons that were "automatically" generated from the sites themselves will refresh when the bookmark is clicked. But custom favicons (those added to bookmarks that did not auto-generate one using Favicon Picker are lost and do not come back. This is a minor but genuine inconvenience for those of us who use a graphical button and no text for our bookmarks. 7/23/07 (2.0.0.5 in XP and Ubuntu 7.04)
