From Foxmarks Wiki
If you're testing Foxmarks on Firefox 3 Beta, here are some things you should know.
- The current version is 2.0.46.10. If you have a problem and you're running an earlier version, please be sure to upgrade before proceeding; we may have already repaired the problem you're having. (Upgrades are available here.)
- If Firefox crashes during your use of Foxmarks, please allow Firefox to submit a crash to report to Mozilla.
- If you encounter a problem that isn't addressed below, please email us and let us know.

Known Bugs and Limitations
- Seeing installation errors? Make sure you have either enabled 3rd party cookies, or created an exception for foxmarks.com. See the detailed instructions.
- The "Unfiled Bookmarks" folder is sometimes duplicated.
- If you sync Firefox 3 data with Firefox 2 using a version of Foxmarks prior to 2.0.44.1, Foxmarks generates a sync error. Solution: upgrade to Foxmarks 2.0.44.x (Firefox 2 or Firefox 3) or 2.0.45 (Firefox 2)
- Foxmarks doesn't yet sync tag descriptions.

Other things you should know
- Firefox 3 supports more data types and special features than does Firefox 2. In dealing with this situation, Foxmarks follows the general precept of "do no harm" -- while special features from Firefox 3 won't work in Firefox 2, Foxmarks makes every attempt to preserve data. Thus you will see that Smart Folders generated in Firefox 3 turn up as ordinary bookmarks with funny url's in Firefox 2. Tags don't appear at all in Firefox 2. Syncing with Firefox 3 will produce a folder called "Unfiled Root" in Firefox 2 containing your unfiled (Firefox 3) bookmarks. Etc.
- When you install Foxmarks for Firefox 3, the Setup Wizard will run even if you have already configured Foxmarks to run on this computer in this profile with Firefox 2. Foxmarks considers Firefox 2 and Firefox 3 to be independent installations even within the same profile; this allows you to switch back and forth between the two versions of the browser and use Foxmarks to sync changes between them.
